the Santa Fe's 'California Limited' in the Arizona desert, circa 1908

"The California Limited was a premier, daily, first-class Santa Fe Railway train operating between Chicago and Los Angeles from November 27, 1892, to June 15, 1954. Known as the "Finest Train West of Chicago," it featured luxurious amenities, including Harvey House dining, and had the longest tenure of any Santa Fe train on that route."
