Seen at London Victoria station in 1964. This is a British Railways Class 71 (Type HA) 750V DC third-rail electric locomotive. The green-liveried locomotives operated between London and Dover Marine, occasionally carrying the Golden Arrow headboard.
The class 71 Bo-Bo type were built in a run of 24 units between 1958 and 1960. One of them (71 001) was saved by the
National Railway Museum in York.
