Rio Grande narrow gauge 2-8-2 steamer, Colorado

One of 10 of this Baldwin-built Mikado-type class K-36 from 1925 for Denver and Rio Grande Western's 3 ft gauge lines.  This, number 483, is seen in 1962.  In 1970 it went to the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad as did four others.  In fact all except one were saved for scenic operations; four went to the Durango and Silverton.  Number 485 was damaged in an accident in 1955 but many parts were saved.
