The Rotorua Express (see earlier posts) headed by an A class 4-6-2 is seen on its journey between Auckland and Rotorua crossing the original Claudelands bridge. In the 1960s a new rail bridge was built alongside and lower enabling the line to be sunk under the city streets, and this bridge was turned into a road bridge (Claudelands Road).
