One of the best known train songs, "Chattanooga Choo Choo" was written by Harry Warren (music) and Mack Gordon (words). It was recorded in a big-band/swing style by Glenn Miller and his orchestra and featured in the 1941 movie
Sun Valley Serenade.
The song was recorded on 7 May 1941 for a 78-rpm single on RCA Victor's Bluebird label and became the first to be certified a gold disc on 10 February 1942 for sales of 1,200,000. In 1996 it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
