These two illustrations were considered for, but not used in the book Strait Crossing: the ferries of Cook Strait through time by Victor Young. They both feature the well-known Wellington to Lyttelton ferry Maori; in the Wallace Tricket painting, sailing south from Wellington, and in the photo, departing from Lyttelton.
