Dodge Army trucks in Persia - Iran and Iraq - WW2

A planned illustration for the forthcoming book Seeds in the Storm, this shows a row of 3-ton Dodge T-110 L-5 D60L,4x2 Army trucks from the USA in 1942. They have extra large tires for desert use. The photo was purportedly taken in Persia, however, it is a composite - the sunlight on the mountains is coming from the right hand side, and the sunlight on the row of trucks is coming from the left hand side of the photo. Our guess is that this is an example of lend-lease propaganda.

Persia was a significant land supply route to the USSR for lend-lease material, and quite a number of Polish soldiers and civilians exited the Soviet Union through Persia as from late 1941 - including the Polish children who ended up in New Zealand.
