Palmerston North Square - 1920s

The Square in Palmerston North (or Palmy as it is sometimes called) in the 1920s as an AB Pacific type steamer hauls a train of livestock wagons through it.  Today the trains no longer go this way, deviated to the western side of town since the early 1960s, and the mass of power and telephone wires above ground is also a thing of the past.

How clean and proper it looks ! : )
Very pleasant view to look at. I guess it looks a lot different now there...
