crossing the Inangahua River a century ago


A stagecoach on a ferry over the Inangahua River in Westland in the 1900s - no motor powered vehicles, and no bridge in those days.

The US Library of Congress has about 6,000 photochrom photos in its online collection, all naturally are public domain. Note that they are only presented in the original state and need some Photoshop work like we give them.
