Queen Street, Auckland, as it was

A photo that would have been taken not long after Auckland's electric trams were introduced in 1902; other vehicles are horse drawn. This shows the Customs Street intersection which an electric tram is crossing. The Central Post Office, which still exists although now the front for the Britomart railway station, was built in the area on the far left in 1912.  For more, see other posts, and of course our books.
