a 1939 Chevolet Master DeLuxe gets gassed up in Petone NZ, 1950
As can be seen, this service station was selling five different brands: Atlantic, Caltex, Europa, Plume and Shell. Caltex is the only one of these to be seen in NZ now, Shell was bought out by Z in 2011, see the post from the time.
The photo is not clear enough to read the punctuation point on the registration plate but the colour says it can't be 1950.The 1941-46 plates were black with a diamond punctuation point. The 1946-51 plates were pale yellow and the 1951-56 plates were back with a comma point. Note also the bald front tyre.
