A scene that reflected post-war NZ streets - dinky British cars to the left, big American cars to the right.  Because Britain bought the bulk of NZ's primary produce, the government preferred British imports. Commonwealth countries in general got a discount on tarrifs, however, so a lot of American vehicles were imported via Canada.
