Canadian National Railway's class K-3g - a Pacific type (4-6-2) - number 5612 is seen at Winnipeg, Manitoba on 3 June 1959. Built in 1911 by the Montréal Locomotive Works, this subclass of 15 was similar in many respects to the other K-3s but differed in having more boiler tubes and cylinders of 1" (25 mm) or smaller diameter. A couple of the class were fitted with thermic syphons, increasing the heating surface.
