The dolphin shaped fuselage of the Lockheed Constellation is arguably the most visually appealing fuselage yet designed. A TWA publicity artwork from 1951. |
A fuselage is specifically the body of an aircraft. Latin fusus "spindle" or "spool", latterly French fuseau, "spindle", fuseler, "to cut or taper into a spindle shape". Also French fusil for "rifle" must be from a similar comparison.
