three Fiat railcars at Woodville NZ, early 1960s

A Robert Scott pic showing the old station before it was rebuilt.

"The railcar in the dock platform at the left has run a service from Wellington to Woodville via Wairarapa and will shortly depart on the return journey back down through Wairarapa to Wellington.

"The railcar in the middle departed Gisborne at 3:50am and is doing its Woodville station stop while enroute to Wellington. The railcar on the right is running a Wellington to Gisborne service and has just departed from the far end of the main platform and used the mid-platform crossover tracks (see the signals controlling use of those crossovers above the station verandah) to get around the southbound railcar also on the main platform. Back then, one could do a cross-platform transfer from one railcar to another giving three-way connections between Gisborne/Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Manawatu/Horowhenua."

What is that car on the far left background? (NZ Car Related Street Sccnes FB group)
