steeplecab electric loco miniature model

by RMI Railworks

Short line and interurban railroads flourished during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Though the bulk of their traffic as passengers, distribution of local and mainline freight was also important. Delivery was most often accomplished by small electric locomotives. From the streets of Brooklyn and Kansas City to the fields of California’s Central Valley, these diminutive locomotives labored mightily for nearly 100 years. This highly detailed model comes with a working pantograph, 2 electric motors and paint of the Sacremento Northern #654, a 65-ton, steeple-cab, locomotive built by General Electric in 1930. It had 4 Traction motors of 212 horsepower @600 Volts DC, inside hung.
