Double album released by Viking Records. From back sleeve: ‘When this recording was first planned, one LP was envisaged. However, when final editing took place, it was discovered that we had obtained what were probably some of the finest recordings ever made of steam engines. Hence it was decided to issue a further volume, namely, South Pacific Steam Safari, Volume Two, The Raurimu Spiral. This record is the enthusiast’s dream, featuring the entire ascent.
A copy was sold for A$125 on Ebay a few years ago.
