On the left is the start of the Stadtpromenade along which trams still run but it seems that the tracks have been removed from the Spremberger Strasse in the background. |
The lead car here looks to be a rebuild of an original open platform 2-axle car from the beginning (see below). This photo was taken on the 50th anniversary of the tram system in 1953. |

This city with a present population of about 100,000 has a 20.1 km tram network in metre gauge which was opened in 1903 and electrically operated from the outset.
