"Le Béout (791 metres elevation) sur les hauteurs de Lourdes". The aerial cable car of the Béout (on the left bank of the Gave) stated to be 1314 metres long, was a bit like the funicular of Pic du Jer (on the right bank). Built in the 1930s, the cable car was no longer used in the 1990s as the cost of necessary upgrades was considered too high. It was finally demolished in 2000 (a cabin was once displayed in the Pic du Jer parking lot). These days you need to climb there on foot.
