Huka Falls riverboat

Not far northeast of Taupo on the Waikato River are the Huka Falls over which 200 cubic metres of water a second plunge down a 9 metre drop.  While those figures are only about one ninth those of Niagara Falls, with the water concentrated into a narrow gorge it produces an impressive spectacle.  Huka Falls River Cruises has this purpose built sightseeing vessel which travels from the Aratiatia Dam to the point shown in this Geoff Churchman pic.
