Hamilton, Canada, trolley bus

An early 1950s CCF-Brill, in need of a paint job at least, is seen in the Wentworth St yard in 1975. The trolley bus system took over from streetcars in 1951 and lasted in declining extent until 1992. More info and pics are on this webpage

Sorry to correct you - it was the Wentworth St yards; there were no other yards during that time period. Awesome picture. I would give almost anything to have taken a ride on these.

I rode these several times from the mid 60s to early 70s. Accelerated very quickly, but top speed maybe 40 miles per hour. Very quirky motion when operator took his foot off the throttle. Single passenger seats on drivers side. Lots of standing room.
