scale model of Elvis's pink Cadillac now available
Elvis Presley's all time favourite car, lovingly named Gladys in honour of his mother, was a 1955 pink Cadillac Fleetwood S60. The first Elvis song to appear on a national chart was "Baby, Let's Play House" the lyrics of which included:
Well, you may go to college,
You may go to school.
You may have a pink cadillac,
But don’t you be nobody’s fool.
These lyrics inspired Elvis to buy a pink Cadillac for his mother in 1955, although he drove it. The pink colour was a unique creation by a neighbour of Elvis (named "Art" of course) on Lamar Street. As befits a car that drove the band around for two years, it went through some rock 'n roll changes, but this version is the one now immortalised in the Graceland museum.
The 1:24 detailed scale model sells for $US 80.

Too cool looking Pink Cadillac. One extraordinary design. It just keeps one old Cadillac model.
