KTM class 24 diesel electric locomotive, Malaysia

26 of these were built by Toshiba Electric in Japan and were delivered to KTM in 1987. A total of 26 units were delivered. They were initially powered at 3000 hp but were reduced to 2400 hp due to overheating issues.

Victorian Railways Diesel-Electric Railmotor (DERM)

Originally the 10 of these were called PERM or Petrol-Electric Railmotor when built over 1928 to 1931 but over 1951 to 1953 they were re-engined with diesel motors.  The design is classic Australian! More pics

The pics from Gippsland and Southwest Railway Heritage Society show 64RM - the last of the Class - on a fan trip in February 1971.  It is now listed as "under restoration."
