Auckland's underground City Rail Link finally opens

Needless to say, behind schedule -- by about 4 years -- and well over the original cost projection. But most people expect that the cost to city businesses caused by its construction will quickly be recovered with extra passengers visiting the downtown, particularly at the new Te Waihorotiu station.

It looks good and certainly a plus for the city, yet when I saw all the fancy design work, arty stuff I have to ask, was that really necessary, Its a station to move people , costs could surely have been less without all that so it was finished earlier for those with business's struggling. .
