Montreal Locomotive Works produced a M636 variant of the Alco Century 636 (of which 63 were built between 1967 and 1968) on Dofasco trucks for Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian National Railway. This was also built in Australia for Hamersley Iron, Mount Newman Mining and Robe River Mining.

DSB lyntog 'Neptun' at Warnemünde ferry terminal, DDR,1971
Gedser (Denmark) to Warnemünde was a roll-on, roll-off train ferry route. Those red signs with white text were slogans, the work of the country's communist party and were ubiquitous throughout Eastern Europe. There was almost no advertising for products as in the West.
