preserved Dutch packet boat 'De Hydrograaf' from 1910


The Royal Netherlands Navy survey vessel was commissioned 4 May 1910 and served through both world wars. It was eventually gifted to the Sea Cadet Corps where it would serve as their Corps ship until sold to a private buyer in 1983.

It is now used for charter events and every year it masquerades as Santa Claus's stoomboot (steam boat). (Damon Devriendt pic)
