Wellington electric tram outside Tramways House, circa 1908

No later than 1908 as the roof level sign says it was travelling between Constable Street in Newtown and the 'Government Station', which became Lambton Station in 1909. The building, at the corner of Mulgrave Street and Lambton Quay, still has Wellington Corporation Tramways clearly engraved on it above the street level windows. For lots more, see our two books on Wellington: Wellington: a Capital Century and Wellington Transport Memories.
