Five of these articulated Bo’Bo’+Bo’Bo’ type were built for the Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon railway by
SLM Winterthur and Brown Boverie & Cie (BBC) between 1959 and 1966. Output at the one-hour rating was 6,475 kW (8,600 hp). Overall length was 30.23 metres (99 ft). Three were scrapped, one after transformer damage in 1996 and two more after a depot fire in Spiez in 1998. One was preserved, and one seems to be stored.
