unloading phosphate from the 'Apollonius' in Auckland, 1977


It looks to be the same ship as in the photo on this webpage which has a few details.

The phosphate came from the Australian territory of Christmas Island.  Using rubber-tired tractors to move the loaded freight cars seems a little unusual, but it was clearly sufficient. (Auckland Harbor Board/G. Riethmeier photo)
