Chinese domain name opportunists

We received a similiar e-mail to this about a year ago but in better English, claiming someone wanted to register "transpressnz.com.cn" and did we want to do that first?  When we asked what the cost was, the answer was 50 Euros ($US 56).  Given that the standard price in the US for a domain name is about $12, it was obvious what their game was.

Unless you actually have a Chinese subsidiary, we recommending ignoring such messages.

Dear CEO,
(If you are not the person who is in charge of this, please forward this to your CEO, because this is urgent. If this email affects you, we are very sorry, please ignore this email. Thanks)

We are a Network Service Company which is the domain name registration center in China.
We received an application from Huayi Ltd on October 31, 2016. They want to register " transpressnz " as their Internet Keyword and " transpressnz .cn "、" transpressnz .com.cn " 、" transpressnz .net.cn "、" transpressnz .org.cn " 、" transpressnz .asia " domain names, they are in China and Asia domain names. But after checking it, we find " transpressnz " conflicts with your company. In order to deal with this matter better, so we send you email and confirm whether this company is your distributor or business partner in China or not?

Couple of years ago the website my work is promoted on was hacked and domain name stolen from one page. Just by sheer chance I was browsing Google and saw my name come up and linked to a work I had never done. I decided to visit the page. It was telling everyone it was my work of a ship in Sydney, but it actually showed OTT offensive adult material .
I contacted the webmaster who lives in UK and he got Google to remove the page and we checked for any others.Given also families visit his site to see all types of history etc neither of us wanted that rubbish linked etc.
The link went back to China according to Google.
