'Silver Fern' railcar on the Waiteti viaduct, late 1970s

This viaduct is not far to the south of Te Kuiti on the NIMT.  The Silver Fern railcars did the daylight run between Wellington and Auckland for nearly 2 decades.  Today the electric catenary masts are part of the scene. For more see our books.
