When the so-called "Arab Spring" uprisings occurred, she took the opportunity to destabilize most of the governments in the region by funding opposition groups. It didn't seem to occur to her that Muslim extremists would be the ones to take advantage of the power vacuums, as happened in Iraq following the Bush administration's ill-considered invasion there.
Fortunately, Egypt was rescued from the Muslim Brotherhood by the military under Al Sisi, the Muslim Brotherhood and other terrorist organizations have been outlawed and their members actively pursued. Some 27,000 small and clandestine mosques have been closed.
The story for Libya, Syria and Iraq isn't so happy, however.
