TAMPA — With a population of 11 million living 90 miles from Florida and a literacy rate of nearly 100 percent, Cuba is a market ripe with opportunity for American authors, publishers and book distributors now that relations between the two nations are warming.
This year, the U.S. is expected to have its largest presence yet at Havana’s annual International Book Fair. Considered one of Cuba’s signature cultural events, it attracts over 1 million shoppers perusing thousands of unique titles.
