Part of the town of Southend-on-Sea, east of London. A cape gauge tramway 9.2 miles (14.8 km) in length ran here from 1901 to 1942. The fleet consisted of 65 double deck cars and 6 single deck. As from 1928 the trams were steadily replaced by buses. The "47 minutes of London" is probably by train to the Westcliff on Sea station.
This poster is clearly produced by The Land Company in Cheap Side in London, promising "fortunes for landbuyers", which long term was probably the case. A "plot" is what in the U.S. is called a "lot", a "block" in Australia and a "section" in NZ.
