Khasan, the last point of the Trans-Siberian Railway, Russia

At this point the railroad bridge over the Tumen River crosses into Kim Jong-Un's 'Hermit Kingdom', a.k.a. North Korea with which Russia has a 19 km border.  In fact the border of both with China is very close too, as can be seen from the map.

Last year it was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Margulov at a reception marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of North Korea, known officially as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, that a railroad section between the Russian railway station of Khasan and the Rajin port in North Korea will be launched in the near future.
