Showing the mainline station as well as the Underground stations of the District line, just below the street level, Bakerloo line (twin tunnel) and the C + E&H = Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway (now the Edgington Line?). The present day Charing Cross Underground station is served by the Bakerloo and Edgington lines, while the District plus Circle lines go through Embankment station, as do Bakerloo and Edgington lines. The stations are close together, about 150 metres according to the official present day map, but this is still a bit confusing.

The Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway is now known as the Northern Line. It has two routes through the city, one known as "Charing Cross Branch" and the other "Bank Branch".
