the Storstrøm Bridge, Denmark, poster

This 3.2 km (2 mile) long, 9 metre wide bridge with 49 piers, between the islands of Falster and Masnedø was opened in 1937. Together with the Masnedsund Bridge it connects Falster and Sjælland.

Construction was by Dorman Long, with Christiani and Nielsen acting as sub-contractors responsible for foundations and reinforced concrete sections.

This poster, written in German as it is on the main rail route from Hamburg to Copenhagen, dates from the time of opening.
