Union Pacific Consolidation goods locomotive

 

In steam locomotive parlance a "Consolidation" type is one with a 2-8-0 wheel arrangement.  According to steamlocomotive.com, "more 'Consolidations' were built than any other wheel arrangement. Roughly 23,000 were built for use in the USA"
