more early light rail at Gérardmer, France

 

See earlier posts on the the 26.6 km Remiremont-Gérardmer tramway and the 19.5 km Ligne de Gérardmer au Hohneck via Retournemer et la Schlucht - which was built between 1897 and 1904, electrified between 1904 and 1932 and closed in 1940 - both metre gauge.

The first pic shows ladies requiring umbrellas because of French summer weather rather than English summer weather, and a loco which seems to have German style wind leading plates on the sides of the smokebox.

The guy in the left distance in the second pic looks to be having a pee.
