A traditional Irish sea shanty. Of the options suggested, "Put him in the bed with the captain's daughter" is probably the one he would most appreciate!

One song that has maritime overtones but was never released as a nautical song is the Electric Light Orchestra's 'Living Thing 'from their New World Record album of 1976. It got hammered in the bars on the ships I worked on , the lyrics certainly suggest the lifestyle back then was to be grasped whilst it lasted.

the first verse of that song could be interpreted that way, or another way:-
"Sailin' away on the crest of a wave
It's like magic
Oh rollin' and ridin',slippin' & sliding
It's magic"
