A postcard from the early 1960s: one of Santa Fe's prestige name trains, the
Super Chief, streaks past the landmark known as the Devil's Footstool near Los Cerrillos, New Mexico. This ran between Chicago and Los Angeles. After the advent of Amtrak in May 1971 the service became the
Southwest Limited, and from 1984, with improved passenger cars, the
Southwest Chief.
