100,000 pageviews!

Another little milestone in this blog - Google's stat counter has now clicked over 100,000 page views since it began recording them about the beginning of last July.  Although a teenage singer on a Simon Cowell talent quest will get that many hits in the first hour after broadcast, it shows that people are finding us.

Origin of pageviews by country:

United States 25.2%
New Zealand 15.5%
United Kingdom 7.9%
Germany 6%
Australia 5.6%
Canada 2.7%
Netherlands 2.4%
France 2.1%
Italy 1.5%
Spain 0.5%

(plus small numbers from several other countries)

The top 10 most viewed posts in order:

1. The Golden Age of the Orient Express
2. Prague Metro
3. 1969 Dodge Charger
4. The railway station of Perpignan - Salvador Dali
5. Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles
6. Eric Watson, crook
7. Palestine and Isreal railways
8. Maersk's giant container ships
9. Westpac Bank's NZ boss
10. The real Burt Munro

Some pageviews have obviously been the result of Google alerts; we were surprised (maybe we shouldn't have been) at the number of people who have an alert for "sex scandal" (in connection with the post on Redmer Ysker's National Library funded book).
