Conceived by Nash as a lower price companion car to their mid-price range of models, the Ajax was renamed the Nash Light Six within a year. Its side valve, seven main bearing six-cylinder engine remained in production in various forms until the late 1930s.
The Ajax was built in the factory of the former Mitchell car in Racine, IN. Nash dealers were sent new nameplates and hubcaps to convert the Ajax into the Nash Light Six. Total Ajax production was approximately 22,000 cars. This was the third and last American car to use the Ajax name.
