In fact a still from the movie Bugsy (1991) which is set in the mid-1940s. The car in the centre is a 1941 Cadillac Series 62, a 1935 Chrysler Airflow on the right.

To look really authentic it would've needed a solid white line running down the middle of the street, power poles and lots of power lines lining both sides of the street, and I'm pretty sure the "land" part of the "Hollywoodland" sign in the distance was gone by the end of the 'thirties. Oh yeah, and everyone you saw would've been smoking. ---FR in SC

1949 is the date we have for the change in that sign from Hollywoodland to Hollywood.
I (obviously) did not know that! Thanks!
