West German diesel class 212

Seen here with Silberlinge on a cold, clammy overcast day -- typical of northern Europe except in the summer -- in Wuppertal in April 1980. A total 364 of then then V100.10 class, a B-B type with a centre cab, were built by Maschinenbau Kiel for light passenger and goods traffic on branch lines between 1958 and 1963.
