NZR Royal Train car, 1934

Presumably this was used by the Duke of Gloucester (1900-1974), who arrived at Wellington on board HMAS Australia on 15 December 1934 after a visit to Australia, and stayed until 29 January. In 1944 he went back to Australia as the GG.  The telephones were probably for summoning the butler and other servants in the adjoining cars.
