A news item from about 3 weeks ago, which seems a very sensible idea to replace the threatened Capital Connection which runs from Palmerston North to Wellington on weekday mornings and returns in the evenings. One of the major problems with Waikanae station is the very inadequate car parking which is always full during weekdays - if people could instead catch a train from further up the line it would solve the parking problem. It would also be an incentive for people to visit Palmerston North for a day trip.
