the Keçiören Teleferik, Ankara, Turkey


Opened in April 2008, this is a mile (1.6 km) long two-station telepherique (aerial lift passenger transport cableway) which connects Kavacık Subayevleri neighborhood (Atatürk station) in the south with Tepebaşı neighborhood (Cumhuriyet station) in the north within Keçiören.

The line was designed and the system was delivered by the Turkish ropeway producing company STM Sistem Teleferik of İzmir. It is the longest urban telepherique in Turkey. Maximum height is 65.5 metres (215 ft).

Sixteen detachable cabins each capable of eight passengers transport hourly 384 people between the two stations. The ride lasts 20 minutes. (gondolaproject.com)
