Erie Alco switcher at Barge Slip, Bronx, NY

An ALCo S1, no date. A total of 540 of the S1 were built between April 1940 and June 1950. They were Bo-Bo type with an Alco 539 model 4-stroke 660 horsepower (490 kW) prime mover. Length was 45 ft (14 metres) and weight 199,000 lb (90 tonnes).
