Wellington railway station and yard, pre-Cake Tin

A postcard from the mid-1980s showing the passenger car yard which was sold off to build the Stadium popularly referred to as the 'Cake Tin' and the buildings between it and the station were sold and demolished to provide a car parking building.  Other plans to sell airspace above the platforms didn't come to anything.  For lots more info, see the book Wellington: a Capital century.
